Since 1988, Soliman Advocates has practiced maritime law in Egypt, building more than four decades of experience that began with maritime litigation and ship arrest and has evolved to encompass the various aspects of the maritime industry and its wider legal and operational framework.

The firm has provided legal, regulatory and operational protection to shipowners and ship operators, served as local correspondents for a number of Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Clubs in the Suez Canal region and Red Sea ports, and represented leading shipping companies and shipowners engaged in passenger and cargo transportation.

We have also handled ship arrests and maritime claims on behalf of maritime creditors, while defending shipowners and shipping companies in arrest proceedings and applications for the release of vessels.

Our practice extends to maritime casualties, collisions, salvage, marine pollution, compensation claims and the protection of the marine environment and fisheries, as well as disputes involving ports, customs, maritime taxation, transportation and logistics.

Suez stands at the southern gateway of the Suez Canal, where international shipping, ports, cargo, industry and trade meet Egyptian jurisdiction, and over the decades, the matters reaching our office have involved vessels, businesses, insurers, cargo interests and lawyers from jurisdictions around the world.

Through this experience, we have worked with different stakeholders across the maritime sector, developing an approach that combines legal knowledge, maritime expertise and a practical understanding of the operational and commercial aspects of maritime activity. We practice maritime law from different perspectives.

We do not need to follow international shipping around the world. Much of the world’s shipping comes through our jurisdiction.
